This Disclaimer applies to content provided through tazzmcalister.com and The Momentum Standard, including articles, emails, videos, ebooks, workbooks, programs, quizzes, calculators, planners, spreadsheets, downloads and interactive tools.
Money and financial information
Money-related Momentum Content is intended to provide financial education, factual information, commentary and personal experience.
It may discuss budgeting, debt, saving, spending, mortgages, interest, superannuation, investing concepts, financial independence, financial habits and behaviour, and general money management.
It is not intended to provide financial product advice or a recommendation that you acquire, dispose of or make a particular decision about a financial product.
The information does not take into account your complete individual objectives, financial situation or needs.
Nothing on The Momentum Standard should be treated as personalised financial advice, investment advice, credit advice, legal advice, tax advice or accounting advice.
Nothing on this website creates a financial adviser-client, fiduciary or other professional advisory relationship between you and Tazz McAlister or The Momentum Standard.
Where a decision involves financial products, investments, superannuation, insurance, credit, significant debt or other substantial financial consequences, consider obtaining advice from an appropriately qualified and, where required, licensed or authorised professional.
Personal experience and examples
Sometimes I talk about what I personally did with my own money. That might include how I approached debt, budgeting, saving, mortgages, investing, financial independence or other financial decisions.
I share those experiences because I think there is value in showing what I did, why I did it and what I learned.
That does not mean the same decision is right for you.
Your income, expenses, debt, assets, responsibilities, goals, risk tolerance and circumstances may be completely different from mine.
Use my experience as something to learn from, not as an instruction to copy it.
The Debt Reset Method
The Debt Reset Method and its related ebooks, workbooks, spreadsheets, calculators and resources are educational tools designed to help you organise your finances, understand your spending and debt, and think more clearly about possible next steps.
They are not a substitute for individual financial advice or professional financial counselling.
If you are struggling to pay bills, dealing with serious debt, experiencing financial hardship or having difficulty dealing with creditors, consider getting professional help early.
Money quizzes, scores and projections
The Momentum Standard may use quizzes, calculators, scores, simulations and projections to help illustrate what current financial habits may mean over time.
These are educational modelling tools. They are not predictions or guarantees.
A low score does not mean you are destined for poverty. A high score does not mean you are destined to become Warren Buffett.
Results may use information you provide together with mathematical assumptions, historical information, publicly available data, behavioural indicators, estimated rates, generalised modelling and rules built into the relevant tool.
Real life has far more variables. Your income, expenses, interest rates, markets, laws and tax rules can all change.
And most importantly, you can change what you do.
Use the result as information to think about, not as a guarantee of where your life is heading.
Your future is still in your own hands.
Investments, super and financial products
Momentum Content may discuss financial products or investment concepts for educational purposes, including shares, ETFs, superannuation, property, bank accounts, loans and investment concepts or strategies.
A reference to a particular company, investment, financial product, platform or service should not automatically be interpreted as a recommendation that you buy, sell, hold or use it.
Before making an important financial product decision, consider conducting your own research, reviewing the relevant product information and obtaining professional advice where appropriate.
Fitness and training
Fitness, exercise and training content provided through The Momentum Standard is general educational information. It is not individual medical, physiotherapy or clinical exercise advice.
Exercise involves risk and may not be appropriate for everyone. Whether an exercise or training program is appropriate for you can depend on your health, fitness level, medical history, injury history, experience, technique and physical capacity.
If you have an injury, medical condition, ongoing pain or concerns about exercising safely, speak with your GP or another appropriately qualified health professional.
Stop exercising and seek appropriate medical attention if you experience concerning symptoms such as chest pain, fainting, severe pain, dizziness or unusual shortness of breath.
Advice from your own treating health professionals should take priority over general information provided through The Momentum Standard.
Food and nutrition
Food, recipe, meal-planning and nutrition content is provided for general educational purposes. It is not individual medical or dietetic advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat or manage a medical condition.
Calories, protein, carbohydrates, fats, serving sizes and other nutritional information may be estimates. Actual values can vary depending on brands, ingredients, portion sizes, preparation methods and product reformulations.
Always check labels, ingredients and allergen information yourself where relevant.
If you have a medical condition, food allergy, intolerance, eating disorder, digestive condition, specific dietary requirements or another health issue affected by nutrition, speak with your GP and an Accredited Practising Dietitian, APD.
Do not use a Momentum Standard meal planner, recipe, calorie estimate or nutrition tool as a replacement for individual medical or dietetic care.
Mental health and wellbeing
The Momentum Standard discusses habits, behaviour, motivation, discipline, stress, lifestyle and personal development. This content is educational.
It is not psychological treatment, counselling, psychiatric care or mental health treatment.
If your mental health is affecting your daily life or you are concerned about how you are feeling, consider speaking with your GP or a registered psychologist.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000.
Quizzes, calculators, planners and automated tools
The Momentum Standard includes interactive and automated tools that may generate scores, training plans, meal suggestions, habit recommendations, financial projections, calculations, comparisons, suggested actions and personalised-looking results.
These outputs are generated using information you provide together with assumptions, calculations, rules and data built into the relevant tool.
A result that looks personalised is not the same thing as personalised professional advice.
A tool does not know every detail of your health, medical history, finances, psychology, lifestyle or circumstances. Automated tools may also make mistakes or produce results that are inappropriate for a particular person.
Use common sense, check important information yourself and seek professional advice where appropriate.
No guarantee of results
The Momentum Standard does not guarantee any particular result.
Stories, examples, case studies, projections and personal experiences show what happened, or what may happen, in particular circumstances. They are not promises of what will happen to you.
There is no guarantee that using Momentum Content will result in paying off debt, increasing wealth, investment returns, losing weight, building muscle, improving health, improving mental wellbeing, changing a habit, improving your career or achieving another particular outcome.
Sources and research
I want you to be able to check what I am saying.
Where appropriate, The Momentum Standard may reference research, government information, books, experts, datasets, articles and other reputable sources.
These references are there so you can go deeper, check the information and form your own view.
Information changes. Research evolves. Government guidance, financial rules, interest rates and products change.
We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate information, but we cannot guarantee that every piece of content will always be complete, current or error-free.
Third-party links and resources
The Momentum Standard may link to or mention third-party websites, organisations, books, podcasts, apps, products, services or individuals.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, mentioning or linking to a third party does not mean The Momentum Standard guarantees or endorses everything provided by that third party.
